Planned works and emergencies
The Maryborough and District Water supply system utilises a number of different surface and groundwater supplies to provide ongoing reliable and high quality drinking water to customers and the community.
Due to extended dry weather and local conditions, many reservoirs and lakes across Victoria have experienced an increase in algae levels. Central Highlands Water (CHW) has recently detected an increase in algae levels in Tullaroop Reservoir and has temporarily suspended the use of this supply for urban water supply. Alternative supply sources, including the available groundwater resource, will be utilised while CHW continues to monitor water quality in all its available supply sources across the region.
While no major change is anticipated in the quality of water supplied to customers, some may detect a slight change in taste and/or odour during this period.
