Water filter salesmen not Central Highlands Water
Central Highlands Water has received a number of complaints from concerned residents about water filter salesmen currently door knocking in the Ballarat area.
The residents believed the salesmen could be from Central Highlands Water because of the presentation of a public survey document and a free water quality test.
Other techniques reported also involve the offer to lease reverse osmosis water filters to customers with annual charges up to $1,500 per year.
Mr Neil Brennan, Managing Director, Central Highlands Water, said the salesman were not connected with Central Highlands Water and does not believe additional water filters are necessary for Ballarat’s water supply.
“The Ballarat & District water supply system is already filtered and meets all health and safety drinking water requirements,” said Mr Brennan.
“All Central Highlands Water staff carry photo identification which they will provide upon request, showing the Central Highlands Water logo and staff details,” he said.
