Central Highlands Water announces new Board member
The Chair for Central Highlands Water Mr John Barnes and Director Ms Alison Teese have been reappointed to the Board by the Minister for Water in consultation with the Treasurer.
The reappointments highlight the State Government’s confidence in the Board to secure and sustain the region’s water and wastewater services during this challenging period of record drought and climate uncertainty.
Central Highlands Water would like to welcome Mr Ian Coles to the Board of Directors bringing with him significant experience with over thirty years of service as a senior manager in the public and private sectors, as well as currently serving on other Boards.
Mr Neil Brennan Managing Director Central Highlands Water said that Mr Coles would bring great experience and knowledge to the Board and would compliment the skills of the existing Board members.
“We look forward to working with Ian, we believe Ian and the existing Board members will continue to deliver a sustainable water future for the region served by Central Highlands Water.” Mr Brennan said.
Mr Coles joins existing Board members Chair Mr John Barnes, Deputy Chair Ms Judith Coull, Mr Joseph Ballinger, Ms Alison Teese, Mr Bryan Crebbin, Ms Judy Tyers and Managing Director Mr Neil Brennan.
Central Highlands Water extends its gratitude to departing Board member Mr James Coghlan, who served on the Board since October 2001. Mr Coghlan’s financial management skills and knowledge of the surrounding areas played an integral role at both the former Ballarat Water Board and Central Highlands Water.
The Board will consider retaining Mr Coghlan as external Chair of the Corporation’s Audit Committee. “This is a role he has had for the past two years and knows well. His continued scrutiny of the business as it continues on the largest ever capital expenditure program in its history can provide valuable reassurance that Central Highlands Water stays on budget, on time and follow due process,” said Mr Brennan.
