Increased water restrictions for the region:
Forest Hill Water supply system to increase to Stage 2 water restrictions from 12 noon Monday 4th June 2007
The Board of Central Highlands Water has met and decided to increase water restriction levels in the Forest Hill water supply systems due to the continuing dry conditions.
The Board has carefully considered all relevant information and community considerations in reaching their decision.
Central Highlands Water Chief Executive Officer Neil Brennan said “The smaller ground water systems have a delayed response to drought conditions therefore they have not required higher stage restrictions to date. However due to drought conditions Stage 2 water restrictions will apply in the Forest Hill water supply system coming into place 12 noon Monday 4th June 2007”.
The Forest Hill water supply system includes the following towns: Allendale, Broomfield, Kingston, Newlyn, Smeaton and Springmount.
At this stage the remainder water supply systems will remain on current restriction levels.
