Waubra Water supply system to increase to Stage 1 water restrictions from 12 noon Monday 16th April 2007

Learmonth Water supply system to increase to Stage 1 water restrictions from 12 noon Monday 16th April 2007

The Board of Central Highlands Water met yesterday and has decided to increase water restriction levels in the Clunes, Forest Hill, Dean, Waubra and Learmonth water supply systems due to the continuing dry conditions.

The Board has carefully considered all relevant information and community considerations in reaching their decision.

Central Highlands Water Chief Executive Officer Neil Brennan said “These smaller ground water systems have a delayed response to drought conditions therefore these systems have not required staged restrictions to date. However due to drought conditions Stage 1 water restrictions will apply in the Clunes, Forest Hill, Dean, Waubra and Learmonth water supply systems coming into place 12 noon Monday 16th April 2007”.

At this stage the remainder water supply systems will remain on current restriction levels.
