International Day of Families is Growing

The International Day of Families is held on 15 May every year. The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 and reflects the importance the international community attaches to families.
This year’s theme focuses on families, healthy lives and a sustainable future.
In support of this year’s theme Central Highlands Water will be promoting Grow, an initiative that focuses on growing your own water wise vegetable gardens.
Students from Brown Hill Kindergarten recently received broad bean seeds for their vegetable patch as part of the promotion, enabling them to kick-start their very own edible garden.
Central Highlands Managing Director, Paul O’Donohue said, education around water wise food production and sustainable gardening means that we can help students across the region appreciate the importance of our most valuable asset – water.
