Water Resource Stakeholder Task Group

Central Highlands Water and City of Ballarat today launched a task force group aimed at spreading the water conservation message across various industry groups and the community in Ballarat and surrounding districts.

The task force group aims to be actively involved in the communication of water related information through industry and community networks (ambassadors).

The group will meet on a monthly basis to be briefed by Central Highlands Water on water related matters. The group will discuss issues and opportunities relating to water saving initiatives and communicate outcomes/key messages into their various networks.

“The group is a joint partnership initiative between Central Highlands Water and the Ballarat City Council in helping the community meet water saving targets focusing on key industry segments “said Chairman of the group Mayor David Vendy.

Today the group was provided with a presentation detailing the current projections for the Ballarat water supply system and discussed techniques that would ensure conservation messages are communicated to both industry groups and the greater community.
