Water Restriction Level	Infringement Penalty	Maximum Courts Imposed Penalty
Contravention of a restriction in a Permanent Water Saving Plan	1 Penalty Unit	1st Offence - 10 Penalty Units. Second or subsequent offence - 20 Penalty Units.
Contravention of a Stage 1 restriction on the use of water imposed by or under By-law 404.	2 Penalty Units	1st Offence - 15 Penalty Units. Second or subsequent offence - 30 Penalty Units.
Contravention of a Stage 2 restriction on the use of water imposed by or under By-law 404.	3 Penalty Units	1st Offence - 20 Penalty Units. Second or subsequent offence - 40 Penalty Units.
Contravention of a Stage 3 restriction on the use of water imposed by or under By-law 404.	4 Penalty Units	1st Offence – 30 Penalty Units. Second or subsequent offence - 60 Penalty Units or 3 months imprisonment.
Contravention of a Stage 4 restriction on the use of water imposed by or under By-law 404.	5 Penalty Units	1st Offence - 40 Penalty Units or 3 months' imprisonment. Second or subsequent offence - 80 Penalty Units or 6 months’ imprisonment.
