Our Board comprises eight non-executive directors, including the Chairman, and the Managing Director.
Non-executive directors are appointed on the basis of their skills by the Victorian Minister for Water.
Jeremy Johnson Chair
Jeremy Johnson was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2010. Mr Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary of Sovereign Hill, Ballarat. He has worked with Sovereign Hill since 1995 in a number of senior management positions including Finance Controller and Director-Commercial. Mr Johnson is a member and Honorary Treasurer of the Council of Australasian Museum Directors, President of the Board and Executive Council of the Victorian Employer's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI), Chairman of the Victorian Tourism Industry Council, Chair of Tourism Victoria's Tourism Excellence Working Group and a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has a Diploma of Business Studies, Municipal Clerk's Certificate of Competency and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries and a Justice of the Peace.
Judith Coull Deputy Chair, FAICD
Ms Coull was appointed to the Board on 1 February 1994. A trained nurse she brings knowledge, experience and involvement in corporate governance and with many community organisations including the Ballarat YMCA Board, past positions on the Ballarat University College Council, Regional Board for Planning and Economic Development, Ballarat Recreation Board and local government.
Bryan Crebbin, BSW, BA and MA
Mr Crebbin was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2005. He has a background in human services locally and overseas. He is a former mayor of the City of Ballarat.
Ms Mette Schepers, B.Com, Grad Dip Applied Finance and Investment, MAICD
Ms Schepers was appointed to the Board of Central Highlands Water on 1 October 2008. She has extensive experience in the finance and commercial sector both in Australia and abroad, and has Chartered Accounting qualifications. She has provided community services for many not-for-profit arts organisations and is currently Board member and Treasurer of the Music Broadcasting Society of Victoria.
Ian Crook, BSc Ag, Grad Dip FBOM (Aberdeen).
Ian Crook was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2008. With more than 30 years experience as a consultant in agriculture and agribusiness, his background in natural resource management is both extensive and diverse. His professional career spans more than a decade of on-farm consultancy work with family and corporate farming operations, and more than two decades of consultancy in agribusiness, forestry, the minerals and manufacturing industries, research & development planning and assessment. Today, Ian has a close involvement with the implementation of the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority’s programs and is a Board and Finance Committee member of a large community service organisation in the region.
Ian Coles, BE (HONS), Grad Dip Bus Admin, FAICD, AFAIM
Ian Coles was appointed on 1 October 2007 and is a consultant and company director. He has extensive public and private sectors experience in management environmental and sustainability programs and projects, and is a Director of several private sector and not-for-profit sector organisations.
Timothy Blood, BE(MechEng), FIEAust, CPEng
Timothy Blood was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2010. He has a wide range of experience in business and project management and has held a number of executive positions in public and private companies within the construction, transport and logistics industries. He is an experienced Company Director with particular expertise in performance improvement and organisational management.
Neil Brennan Managing Director
Mr Brennan is the Managing Director of Central Highlands Water; a
position he has held for the past 10 years. Prior to that Mr Brennan
held CEO positions at Western Water and Macedon Region Water
Authorities. He has been employed in the Victorian Water Industry
for some 25 years, and has had various Ministerial appointments
to industry committees. He is currently a Director on the Board of
the Electricity and Water Ombudsman Scheme Victoria (EWOV). Mr
Brennan's academic achievements include a Graduate Diploma in
Management, a Masters in Business Leadership and completion of the
Oxford Advanced Management Programme.
